Sitting atop of the New Jersey Palisades and only 6 miles from New York City, Palisades Park in New Jersey’s Bergen County is a prime example of the cultural cross roads of America. The city’s ethnic make up of primarily Koreans and Latinos demonstrates how different cultures from around the world can melt into each other and create a community with English as the common language.
Transportation to and from New York City is very easy and quick via the George Washington Bridge, one of the world’s busiest bridges. Public transportation makes the city accessible from New York City and other parts of New Jersey. Broad Avenue offers an array of ethic restaurants, shops, and parlors. There are also plenty of parks and recreation areas near the city.
Palisades Park is an excellent place to learn and practice English. You will hear different accents and learn with people from different parts of the world.

Palisades Amusement Park was a historic American amusement park in operation from 1898 through 1971, preserved today with a public park memorial and special event lecture series. Palisades Amusement Park, NJ was opened in 1898 by the Bergen County Traction Company as a trolley park offering evening and weekend entertainment rides, originally referred to as the “Park on the Palisades.”
