The city is home to a large number of beach resorts and is an extremely popular spring break destination. As Miami is so long, it is generally broken up into two or three districts. South Beach is the most popular district.

Historically, Miami Beach is known as being a center of arts, culture and nightlife. By comparison, Miami is now a major international entertainment destination. Consequently, it has very strong production and arts communities.
